Red or Dead Watches are a creation of the fashion designing manufacturer, Red or Dead. The company began in London in 1982, started by Wayne Hemingway and his wife Geraldine Hemingway. The couple had no money at the time and so decided to sell their wardrobes at Camden market. By the end of the year, one market stall expanded to sixteen, but Red or Dead did not stop. They expanded and went on to become well known for their creative shoe designs. This company is responsible for changing the image of Dr. Martens boots from a work related item into a fashion pop culture success.

Red or Dead Watches reflect the same edgy creativity you can find in other Red or Dead products. The philosophy of the company is not about high cost or spending, but about being creative with what you have, and making items affordable to people. Red or Dead believe fashion is about fun, and is not to be taken too seriously. Though the fashion industry initially rejected Red or Dead, the public felt differently. Red or Dead won Street Style Designer of the Year three years in a row in the 1990s.
